CHILD PSYCHOTHERAPY

(6-12 years)

Child psychotherapy’s main approach is play, a spontaneous, voluntary and not goal directed activity chosen by the child. Through the process of play the child has the opportunity to communicate feelings and experiences, develop coping skills, recognize his/her strengths and improve his/her self-image. Some of the reasons that can lead parents to seek psychotherapy for their child are: difficulty in adapting to school, attention and learning difficulties, aggression, isolation, anxiety, parental divorce, etc.

Parallel parent counselling meetings are highly recommended as they can positively affect the psychotherapeutic process of the child.

Duration: 50 '
